All Things Spray Tan
How I Got Hooked
I am an 80’s baby. I grew up outside and have a naturally dark skin tone. I love having that sunkissed glow. I spent a lot of time in tanning beds as a teen and in my early 20’s (before we knew exactly how bad they were). When I had my first daughter at 23, I realized I needed to make healthier choices and be a good example for my tiny human. I didn’t want to give up my bronze skin, so I decided tot ry a spray tan. I was hooked. The process was much faster than I thought it would be and it was so easy. It’s like makeup for your whole body. And we all know I LOVE makeup. Spray tans are the best confidence booster and make you feel better in any outfit. It’s a win-win!
Benefits of a Spray Tan
- Spray tans are the ONLY safe tan. There is no UV exposure and the ingredients are even beneficial to your skin
- They offer a natural glow that you can control. Depending on which solution we use, you can choose the depth of your color. Just want a hint of color for a photo session? You got it! Need a deeper color for a beach vacation? Done!
- Spray tans are so quick and easy. From prepping to finished, the process only takes 10 minutes.
- They are the best confidence booster. They help eliminate the appearance of stretch marks, cellulite, and help even skin tone. Who doesn’t want to feel confidence in their skin everyday?
The Solution I Use
The spray tan solution I use is paraben free. It also contains aloe and vitamin C to nourish your skin and prolong the life of your tan.
Preparing for Your Appointment
Prepping your skin properly plays a HUGE role in the quality and longevity of your tan.
24 hours before your appointment:
- Take care of all shaving/waxing
- Complete manicure/spa/massage/lash appointments
- Exfoliate! Getting rid of dead/dry skin will allow your skin to better absorb the solution for maximum glow
- Moisturize. Make sure you use a good moisturizer 24 hours BEFORE your appointment. No lotion the day of your tan.
What to Wear to Your Appointment
- Loose-fitting, dark colored clothes that you don’t mind getting stained. I recommend going to walmart or target for black sweat pants and a black sweatshirt. Just go ahead and designate these as your “Spray tan” clothes.
- Open toe sandals. I wear the plastic Birkenstock look-alikes
- No jewelry
- Bring a hair tie or clippy
- Remove make up and deodorant
Caring for Your Tan
- I recommend sleeping in your tan (unless we used a rapid solution)
- The morning after your tan, rinse in a luke warm shower (not hot). No shaving, no scrubbing, no soap. Just rinse until the water runs clear.
- Pat yourself dry
- Apply a good moisturizer twice daily. This helps prolong the life of your tan and helps it to fade more evenly.
- Hydrate! Drink lots of water (and Liquid IV) https://rstyle.me/+h52FbTkvitOV4tQFWwX9YQ Click here for Liquid IV
